Ontario’s regulated iGaming marketplace is launching on April 4th, 2022. In preparation for the go-live of Ontario’s market, we’ve made a series of updates to our products.

Through new features, we will support our merchants with the ability to be compliant or add an additional layer to their compliance controls.

At a high level, our new features help to confirm: 1) bank account ownership and 2) a consumer’s physical location. The approaches for bank account ownership may vary by product while identifying consumer location is similar across products.

Bank account ownership

How does it work?

• The ownership feature matches the name the consumer used to sign up on the merchant’s site with the name on their bank account and/or registered for Interac e-TransferⓇ.

What’s in it for you?

• These features ensure that only transactions where the names match or the account has been verified by micro-deposit will be successful

Consumer location

How does it work?

• Our products support geolocation of the consumer’s IP address
• We have the ability to block consumer traffic based on location and the status of the merchant’s license

What’s in it for you?

• This feature can add an additional layer to your existing controls by blocking consumers in Ontario from accessing unlicensed sites
